Summer at 18

It pretty much starts as of march 5,1990 i was very much looking forward to the summer time because of the fact that i was legal and the new things that i could do going into the year. But that all changed when school got out on break. Most of my friends ended up going out of town and i no longer worked so i ended up having many boring days.

What i was looking forward to was going out with my friends and basically living it up in orlando even though my home was in boring deltona. I thought maybe since i was eighteen my schedule would consist of going clubbing every weekend, going to the beach every other weekend and just doing alot more on my own without having parents down your back watching your every move. I never had a curfew so i wasnt worried about being home. i spent more time with my younger sister then i ever had before, which was ok i guess. But some new things ive done that a eighteen year old should do turned out to become more responsible. I learned how to do my taxes, I registered to vote, learned about insurance, bank accounts, and more about my car then just driving it on daddy's gas money, lol.

Towards the end of my summer it turned to look much better, my aunt and my cousin came down from newyork and pennsylvania to visit my house for about three weeks. i was looking forward to it but at the same time i was not because i knew i would have to share my queen size bed with one of them, which i hate sharing my bed because then you have to watch what your doing and how you sleep to make sure they are comfortable. But while they were here we did so much and spent soooo much money. We went out to eat a lot, but we also did alot that i never did before. Went to the Nick hotel which was cool, i was very aware that i was now an adult but i was acting like a big kid along with my parents, lol. We saw spongebob, went of alot of water slides, got slimmed, went swimming almost everyday. Then a few days later i went to Chuck E. Cheese for the first time. which was another experience that i enjoyed, playing games til you drop, collecting tickets, even stealing tickets the the forgetful kids forgot to pick up when they finished their game. But having my family around period it was fun because of there wild personalities, on bored days we constantly just cracked jokes on each other til we all had headaches. So when they left it was a sad moment.

Not to long after my cousins left to go back home, my summer ended very well, my friends came back from where they were, and we just saw each other everyday, we were all broke because of spent money for school and events we did before school but we still enjoyed ourselves much, just by each others company. I couldnt ask for two better best friends. We are all different in our own ways with flaws but we can last and we still love each other very much. And while this big storm stayed over us we made sure to spend time by watching movies and eating mickey d's all the time, lol. oh i forgot and shopping again even though we couldnt afford to

but overall i learned something about life, you grow up thinking that when you turn eighteen everything will get better, yes for some it does, but some arent so lucky when the future and reality really hits them as they hit the twenties. But ive learned that along with pleasure and fun comes reality and responsibility. And its not about going out and having a good time all the time. so i cant complain about my summer because i didnt go to a club like i wanted, i ended up enjoying the little things with my family and closest friends. And thats my first and only summer as a legal teen.
